Cairo is the capital city of Egypt and one of the largest cities in Africa. It has a population of over 10 million people. Cairo is associated with ancient Egypt as it is located near the Giza pyramid complex and ancient cities such as Memphis and Heliopolis. The city has stood for more than 1,000 years on the banks of Nile river.
Such an experience! We stayed at one of the big chain hotels. It might have been at the Marriott or something but it was such a grand decision because the security was top notched!

It was built in 876 by Ahmed Ibn Tulun, who was the Turkish governor of Egypt and Syria at that time. The mosque is surrounded by three outer courtyards known as ziyādahs. Giza pyramids
The Pyramids of Giza are three 4th dynasty pyramids located on a rocky plateau on the west bank of the Nile River near Al-Jīzah (Giza) in northern Egypt. They were built around 2575-2465 BCE and were included among the Seven Wonders of the World. The largest of these pyramids is known as the Great Pyramid of Giza and was built as a tomb for Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khufu. These monumental tombs were constructed some 4,500 years ago during Egypt’s Old Kingdom era and were built to endure an eternity.
The Pyramids of Giza were built more than 1,200 years before the rule of King Tut.
The Great Pyramid of Giza is 481 feet tall
